Position Overview : Strategic oversight and leadership of client finance operations services department including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Treasury. The role includes relationship management to the management teams and clients of the region’s managed residential communities (approx. 450 properties) by providing service leadership, team management and development of our shared services finance operations department of approximately 30+ associates.

AKAM Property Management is a leading property management firm based in Dania Beach, FL, overseeing over 100 homeowner associations (HOAs) and condominium associations across South Florida. Position Summary :

The VP of Client Finance will provide strategic financial leadership for AKAM and its client communities. This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, managing client budgets, and supporting overall business growth. The Senior Director of Client Finance will work closely with property managers, executive leadership, and boards of directors to drive financial performance, compliance, and transparency across all client portfolios.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage the finance team, including accounting, reporting, receivables, payables, financial reporting packages preparation and financial analysis functions.
  • Oversee and preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting (for over 100 HOAs and condominium associations.
  • Serve as primary financial liaison to boards of directors and property managers, providing guidance and support on financial decisions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for client associations.
  • Oversee and manage the Audit process for all AKAM managed properties
  • Monitor cash flow, reserve accounts, and investment funds for client communities, ensuring compliance with governing documents and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain transparency, accuracy, compliance and efficiency.
  • Conduct financial analysis and performance reviews of Finance Team to identify opportunities for operational improvement and cost optimization.
  • Review and approval of monthly highlights section of AKAM financial package to associations.
  • Partner with executive leadership to support strategic initiatives, including acquisition, expansion, and service enhancement.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including HOA and condominium financial reporting requirements.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop finance staff, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Oversee the Special Assessment planning process and set-up calculations. Including presentations to AKAM associations.
  • Participate in Business Development efforts and attend and present to prospective clients.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA required
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably in property management or real estate.
  • Strong knowledge of HOA and condominium financial structures, budgeting, reporting requirements, and Special Assessments.
  • Proven leadership experience, managing finance teams and interacting with boards or executive leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and property management systems (e.g. Yardi & Enumerate). Experience with Avid or similar platforms is a huge plus.
  • Keen analytical, organizational, and communication skills including excellent written skills, as follow-up to Boards in written manner will be a regular requirement
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly directly managing client relationships. Excellent presentation and public speaking skills required.
  • Ability to manage multiple client portfolios, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
