Responsibilities Position is based in an ER Holding / Boarding unit within an acute care hospital Patients range from medical-surgical (MS) to PCU / stepdown and ICU-level of care Patient ratios fluctuate between 1 : 4 to 1 : 6, depending on acuity Unit beds may vary from 4 to up to 8-10 beds based on need Team nursing model is utilized with RN / LPN or RN / CNA partnerships Must be comfortable floating to inpatient PCU units as needed Night shift schedule : 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00-07 : 30) Every other weekend required No on-call requirement Must use Cerner EMR Care for patients admitted from the ED while awaiting transfer or discharge, with regular assessment and monitoring based on level of care Delegate appropriately when working with LPNs or CNAs in the team nursing model May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliates as needed Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays Up to 5 days of requested time off may be auto-approved per policy Charge pay may be offered when assigned charge duties Requirements Active IN or compact RN license required and must be in hand Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, including recent PCU experience Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; AHA & RQI acceptable Proficiency with Cerner EMR required Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required First-time travelers not accepted Local candidates not accepted for ER positions Perm or PRN staff must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622285.
