Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced PLC Technician to join our manufacturing maintenance team. This role focuses on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming , troubleshooting, and repair of all manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will also have strong skills in electrical systems , motor controls , automation equipment , and power transmission systems . In addition to PLC responsibilities, this position performs a wide range of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks to ensure maximum production uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting , repair, and maintenance of PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley preferred).
- Design, install, and modify control panels , electrical circuits , and machine wiring .
- Program and debug Allen-Bradley PLCs using ladder logic and other software tools.
- Analyze current manufacturing equipment for automation upgrades and process improvements .
- Install, calibrate, and maintain motor drives , sensors , and electromechanical systems .
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on plant switchgear , electrical panels , and control systems.
- Collaborate with electricians to complete facility-wide electrical maintenance .
- Maintain a log of barrel and screw inventory , changes, and throughput for extrusion equipment.
- Safely operate within all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA requirements.
- Escalate issues outside skill scope when additional resources or expertise is required.
- Execute preventive maintenance and ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency.
- Complete other electrical and mechanical duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Associate degree in Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field; OR equivalent certifications and formal training (e.g., Fundamentals of PLCs, Troubleshooting PLC Systems).Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with industrial PLC systems , electrical systems, and equipment troubleshooting.Proficient in Allen-Bradley PLC logic programming and motor drive systems .Strong understanding of electrical schematics , ladder logic, and control panel wiring.Ability to work independently or in a team environment, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.Other ways to Apply
