Tool and Die Maker

Job Type : Full Time

Work Location : On-site

RESPONSIBILITIES

Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify tools using machine tools and hand tools

Smooth / fit mold components for fitting.

Inspect finished tools for fit, functionality, and any defects.

Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.

Conduct tests with completed tools to ensure that parts meet specifications; adjust as necessary.

SKILLS / ABILITIES

Utilizing die shop-related equipment such as a lathe, surface grinder, and various other hand tools.

Set up and operate drill presses to drill and tap holes in parts for assembly.

Troubleshooting and repairing mold.

Design, fabricate, and repair parts for various aspects of the mold.

Capable of communicating, in a professional manner, in oral and written form with customers, vendors, and co-workers.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to readily adapt to changes in customer demands and produce solutions.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Maintaining tooling by utilizing techniques such as mold spotting, fitting / entry, formability improvements, and the ability to use related hand tools.

Extensive knowledge of hot runner systems.

Knowledge of the Mold design and build process.

Understands the function and operation of a die / mold function and operation.

Understand principles for plastic injection molding.

Extensive knowledge of hot runner systems.

Ability to multi-task design projects.

Current with the latest industry standards and technologies.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATION

3-5 years of Tool and Die Maker experience or equivalent experience.
