Job summary
- As a System Engineering Specialist in the Research & Development department, you will play a significant role in producing high quality technical requirement specifications for new products and features in our Network Instruments Portfolio
- In active collaboration with the product line management team, identify and understand the customer use cases & market needs
- Define the most innovative and appropriate solutions taking into considerations any design constraints
- Provide technical support and guidance to the development, product support and marketing teams
What you'll do
Act as a resident technical subject matter expertConduct domain technology scouting & follow industry standardsProduce technology studies on emerging topics of interest for the businessDefine new test products, features & methodologiesProduce detailed technical specifications for the development teamsEnsure the conceptual and technical integrity of the product / feature requirementsResponsible for defining user stories, managing, and prioritizing development teams' backlogFulfil the role of Technical Product Owner as a member of Agile development teamsWhat we're looking for
Technical skills :
Excellent knowledge of transport / datacom networking protocols such as Ethernet, TCP / IP, 1588 PTP, OTN, CPRI, eCPRIExcellent knowledge of telecommunication & mobile networks architectures & applicationsFamiliar with applicable industry standards from IEEE, IETF, ITU, ANSI, OIF, O-RANFamiliar with telecommunication test equipment & methodologiesExcellent technical writing abilitiesRequired aptitudes :
High interest in emerging telecommunication technologiesDemonstrated experience in specification of complex systemsCapability to digest, interpret and adapt industry standards to the test & measurement marketCapability to develop innovative ideas / conceptsExcellent analysis and synthesis skillsCapability to handle complex problems and situationsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Good knowledge of Agile development methodologiesComfortable working in a multi-cultural, distributed environmentA strong team focus with an inherently collaborative mindsetHigh sense of responsibility, autonomy and efficiencyCapable of multi-taskingMust have
Pertinent experience : 10+ years' experience in the telecommunication industry
Must have
Bachelor's degree in software or computer engineering or equivalent.0-5 years of experience in software development.Bilingual (French and English, oral and written)Other : Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
