We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our internal Data & Analytics team at Sago – a leader in executing marketing research projects. In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization to translate business needs into data solutions. You’ll help build and support reporting workflows, improve data processes, and make our internal analytics tools more efficient and reliable.
This is an ideal role for someone who is a few years into their data career and eager to grow in a hands-on environment. If you have a strong foundation in Excel, SQL, and Python , and a passion for making data more accessible and impactful, we’d love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into repeatable, stable analytics solutions
- Maintain, update, and build SQL-based datasets and dashboards in collaboration with other data team members
- Assist in automating data cleaning, transformation, and Excel-based workflows using Python and other tools
- Support and troubleshoot stakeholder issues related to existing datasets in our data lake and data platforms
- Document data definitions, reporting logic, and analytics processes clearly and consistently
- Identify opportunities to streamline or improve existing, manual analytics tasks
- After an initial onboarding period, independently own analytics projects from request to delivery
Requirements
2-3 years professional, on-the-job experience working with data (as an analyst, engineer, etc…) and stakeholder requests.Intermediate proficiency in SQLBeginner to intermediate proficiency in PythonStrong power query and excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, data validation, automation, etc..)Fluent / native English communication skills (written & verbal); must be comfortable speaking with non-technical stakeholdersComfortable working with structured and semi-structured data from a variety of sourcesFamiliarity with notebook-based environments such as Jupyter, Hex, or SageMakerExperience with business intelligence tools like Superset, Power BI, Tableau, etc…Basic understanding of Data Governance and Data Modeling concepts and best practicesComfortable learning new tools and platforms used for data modeling, reporting and orchestrationPassion for improving and automating business and analytics processesA degree is not required – we welcome candidates with certifications or bootcamp training in data, analytics, or engineering (or equivalent on-the-job experience)Nice-to-Haves
