We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join a dynamic manufacturing team in Wixom, Michigan. Responsibilities :

• Analyze production costs to uncover trends and identify areas for financial improvement.
• Reconcile financial data with the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support fixed asset management processes, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
• Evaluate production variances and assess their impact on cost structures and profitability.
• Prepare monthly reports detailing customer profitability and product line performance.
• Generate profit center and cost center reports to monitor organizational financial health.
• Collaborate in the development and review of annual budgets, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
• Compare budget forecasts to actual results, reporting on variances and providing actionable insights.
• Monitor overhead expenditures and recommend strategies for cost optimization.
• Maintain and update accounting and costing views within the material master system, ensuring data integrity.
• At least 5 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of standard cost accounting principles and practices.
• Proven ability to analyze and report on cost structures and profitability.
• Experience with manufacturing cost accounting systems and processes.
• Proficiency in reconciling financial data while maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
• Skilled in preparing budgets, analyzing variances, and monitoring overhead spending.
• Familiarity with managing accounting views in material master systems.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to support informed financial decision-making.
