Your Impact
The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in managing the financial accuracy and integrity of the organization. This position will be responsible for the month-end close process with a focus on closing the books each month. This includes posting journal entries, completing account reconciliations, analytics and special projects for senior management.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, curious and able to perform in an agile environment that offers exposure to senior leaders and working with cross functional teams. In a fast-paced private equity owned business, the Staff Accountant will support the General Ledger and financial reporting processes to drive operational and business performance.
This role can be based in Morristown, TN, Atlanta, GA or Rochester, NY.
What You’ll Be Doing :
Complete monthly / quarterly close procedures which include preparation and / or review of journal entries, account reconciliations, analytical procedures, and performing key financial controls
Comply with and monitor accounting policies and procedures
Monitor the company’s internal control framework and ensure compliance with those controls
Cash Applications and Account Receivable Collections
Gather reports for Monthly and Quarterly Rebate payments
Create reporting for Outgoing Payments weekly
Identify and implement process improvements
Perform financial projects as requested by management
You’ll Bring :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similarly related field
2+ years of progressive accounting experience
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience with ERP systems (Infor M3 a plus)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (strong Excel skills preferred)
Works well under moderate supervision
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
