About The Position
Job Title : Operating Room Registered Nurse
Profession : Nursing
Specialty : Operating Room / Circulation & Scrub
Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Weekdays : Either five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days
Hours per Shift : 8 or 10 hours
Experience :
Gastroenterology / Endoscopy Lab experience.
Orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT surgical procedures, and interventional pain management experience is required.
License :
Current licensure as an RN in good standing.
Certifications :
Current AHA BLS certification.
Current ACLS certification.
Current PALS certification.
CNOR certification.
Must-Have :
Cerner EMR experience.
Description :
The OR RN is responsible for coordinating and managing safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care for surgical patients throughout the perioperative process.
This includes the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.
The nurse will provide support, education, and direct care to patients.
The nurse acts as a liaison between the surgical team and the patient families / support systems.
Using a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care, the OR nurse works closely with the entire surgical team.
The perioperative registered nurse may serve as a Circulating Nurse, 1st Scrub (Instrument) Nurse, or 2nd Scrub (Assistant) Nurse depending on level of experience and training.
Education / Training :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited RN program.
BSN is desired but not required.
