About The Position

Certifications : CRT by NBRC, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Must-Have : Completion of accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program
Description :
Perform respiratory procedures under physician direction in all patient areas.
Responsible for patient assessments, care plans, and plan implementation.
Evaluate and revise therapy plans as needed.
Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective care delivery and desired patient outcomes.
Utilize knowledge of patient age and cultural diversity in the provision of care.
Support the organization’s vision and mission.
Practice performance improvement techniques for effective patient care.
Deliver respiratory care procedures in general, acute, critical care, and emergency areas.
Perform therapeutic modalities including patient monitoring, medication delivery, ventilation management, expansion therapy, and bronchial hygiene.
Conduct diagnostic testing including ABGs, PFTs, EKGs, cardiac assessments, bronchoscopy, and pulse oximetry.
Assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency care by providing airway maintenance and management.
Respond to patient needs in a timely and effective manner.
Provide education and teaching to patients and families.
Transport patients within facilities.
Develop care plans from thorough assessments based on protocol criteria or directed physician orders.
Document all patient care activities including evaluations, progress notes, and treatment records.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians regarding respiratory therapy services.
Demonstrate technical and interpersonal problem-solving skills.
Ensure proper function of all equipment and make necessary interventions.
Recognize and assist others in identifying patient complications and reactions related to respiratory care.
Demonstrate effective time management and proactively prioritize workload.
Adapt to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, and staffing through priority setting and flexibility.
Participate in personal, professional, and program development through department in-services and meetings.
Assist in training respiratory therapy staff, students, and other personnel.
Act as a resource for new staff members and co-workers by sharing information and providing education.
