About the Role :
Now is a great time to join Fixed Income Capital Markets at Baird! The Securitized Products (SP) team is looking for an organized and driven professional to join their business unit in New York City.
As a specialist supporting SP sales and trading, you will play a pivotal role in our established securities trading platform. This is a great opportunity for a curious, motivated, and detail-oriented individual looking to enter the financial industry surrounded by a team of seasoned veterans on a midtown Manhattan trading floor. A background in finance, economics, accounting, computer science or related fields is preferred, along with excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
The Impact You’ll Make :
Provide support to our SP sales and trading team, monitor market trends and assist with trade execution and settlement processes.
Respond to ad-hoc requests from salesmen and traders in an accurate and timely manner.
Oversee, input, and distribute auction calendar of client bonds.
Aggregate relevant bond market data for internal systems.
Assist tech colleagues on C#- based applications projects and troubleshooting.
Upload quarterly / monthly portfolio updates into Baird proprietary databases.
Maintain deal files with relevant documents on primary bond issuances.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and uphold ethical standards at all times.
Utilize systems including Bloomberg, Microsoft Excel, Intex, and internal databases.
Facilitate the process of trader’s monthly marks on client positions.
What You’ll Bring to Baird :
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Computer Science is ideal, but not required.
FINRA licensed (SIE, 7 and 63) or willingness to become licensed within 3 months of start date.
Excellent communication skills and possessing a team player approach. Willingness and ability to work additional hours as needed to ensure work is completed in a timely fashion. Attention to detail and a positive “can-do” attitude are a must.
Expert Microsoft Excel skills. Have an understanding or willingness to learn standard industry tools (i.e., Bloomberg).
Coding acumen is a plus (Python, VBA, SQL).
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously, often under pressure and / or short deadlines.
Organization and attention to detail is paramount.
Pride in your work and a strong sense of ownership are essential
Some industry experience is preferred but not required.
Willingness and desire to learn independently
High degree of familiarity with ChatGPT
Compensation and Benefits :
$67,600 -$90,600 annual salary range
Bonus potential up to 15% of base pay
Compensation and bonus are commensurate with experience, performance and / or firm profitability
