Job Description : As an Oncology Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the patient journey at our practice. Your responsibilities will include :
- Escorting patients to and from exam rooms while ensuring a smooth and welcoming intake process.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of exam rooms between patient visits.
- Preparing syringes and administering subcutaneous and intramuscular injections with care.
- Assisting healthcare providers with injectable procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Preparing, labeling, and sending pathology and lab specimens to the appropriate laboratories, aligning with patient insurance requirements.
- Addressing patient inquiries in person and over the phone, while following physician protocols.
- Scheduling and rescheduling appointments with providers and specialists to meet patient needs.
- Adhering to OSHA guidelines and blood borne pathogen standards to maintain a safe environment.
- Understanding and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient information.
- Managing medication samples, disposing of expired supplies responsibly, and maintaining accurate records.
- Training fellow staff members on essential medical assistant tasks to promote teamwork and efficiency.
- Providing support at the front desk during check-in or check-out as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
- Taking on additional responsibilities as required to enhance practice operations.
You will work independently and under the direct supervision of a physician, fostering a collaborative and patient-centered atmosphere.
Qualifications :
A minimum of one (1) year of relevant medical assisting experience is preferred.Successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program.Proficiency in fast-paced environments with the ability to collaboratively work within a team.Exceptional professionalism and strong customer service skills are essential.Effective communication skills with doctors and patients to deliver clear, concise information.Ability to engage with patients and colleagues in a friendly, respectful manner.Physical capability to lift at least 15 pounds and stand for extended periods (up to an hour).Benefits :
