When assigned to a construction project, the Estimator will report to the Project Manager or designated Deputy Project Manager. The Estimator will have a dual reporting role to the Chief Estimator (or designated Senior Estimator) based on experience.
Major Duties & Responsibilities :
- Prepare preliminary cost estimates / budgets / schedules
- Maintain / create subcontractor / vendor bid list
- Prepare accurate quantity surveys / take-offs
- Solicit bid information from subs / partners / suppliers
- Distribute and manage bid plans
- Prepare pricing pages for Bids
- Ensure Bid documents are up to date, including an addendum received, on the shared drive and sharefile for subcontractors
- Delivery of bids, proposals, and prequalification to Owners
- Manage, as required, WBE, DBE, SBE, and / or MBE goals during bid process
- Lead detailed reviews of subcontractor's scope and price prior to award.
- Maintain excellent relationship with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve best pricing, delivery, and quality.
