Overview
Join our innovative team as a Lead AI Engineer, playing a vital role in the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge Generative AI applications for our customer-facing products. This is a hybrid position that requires attending our Wolters Kluwer office twice a week. We are looking for an expert in agent-based AI frameworks, with strong skills in evaluating, tuning, scaling, and managing costs for production AI systems. You will collaborate closely with the AI Platform team to enhance AI capabilities across our platform, driving scalable adoption throughout our product portfolio. Your initiative will be key in establishing best practices for quality, safety, observability, and performance, ensuring our AI solutions generate real business value.
Responsibilities
- AI Solution Delivery
- Design and implement production-ready AI solutions with a focus on generative AI and agent-based applications.
- Optimize and scale AI systems for latency, throughput, cost efficiency, and reliability .
- Lead efforts in fine-tuning, evaluation, and monitoring of models within real-world settings.
- Deploy observability frameworks for ongoing quality and safety verification of deployed models.
- Platform & Architecture Contributions
- Work alongside the AI Platform team to integrate AI components and services into our enterprise AI platform.
- Drive enhancements to the platform that facilitate scalable adoption of generative AI across various products.
- Establish design patterns, architecture standards, and frameworks for developing AI-powered solutions.
- Best Practices & Governance
- Define and implement best practices for responsible AI, focusing on quality, safety, fairness, and compliance within AI Governance.
- Promote techniques for evaluation, benchmarking, and management of the AI model lifecycle.
- Ensure the secure, compliant, and cost-efficient use of hyper-scaler AI services and cloud infrastructure.
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and guide fellow AI engineers and product teams on technical approaches and implementations.
- Collaborate with product and platform engineering teams, product owners, subject matter experts, and operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of AI solutions.
- Engage with external AI technology providers to leverage cutting-edge advancements.
Qualifications
A degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.A proven history of delivering Generative AI applications into production for customer-facing products.Expertise in agent-based AI frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, LangChain, or similar).Robust background in production-grade software engineering , with proficiency in Python and cloud-native development methodologies.Experience with hyper-scaler AI services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their ecosystem of AI / ML tools.Proficiency in AI model evaluation, fine-tuning, cost optimization, and observability .Experience with MLOps, CI / CD for ML, and software practices.Preferred SkillsUnderstanding of model safety, interpretability, and alignment techniques .Experience with multi-agent orchestration and advanced reasoning systems.Familiarity with compliance, privacy, and governance frameworks in AI applications.Excellent communication skills to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders .Benefits

Compensation
The target salary range in CA, CT, CO, DC, HI, IL, MD, MN, NY, RI, WA is $183,700 - $260,050.
