Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager I (ITM I), on the GenTax-based Centralized Revenue Opportunity System (CROS) Production Support Team, the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) works as an independent technical specialist on developing complex solutions and systemic changes and configurations for CROS production, maintenance, and operation. The incumbent participates in all stages of the System Development Life Cycle of CROS, including but not limited to solution requirements analysis, design, development, unit testing, creating test scenarios, deployments, maintenance, and production support. The incumbent will also assist with moderate-sized IT system studies or project deliverables and may participate with other analysts on the IT system studies of a complex nature or broad scope. The ITS I will work closely with business analysts, business users, vendors, contractors, and other California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) staff to provide the necessary support for the ongoing support of the CROS operations. The incumbent may also assist in planning system patching, upgrades, and implementations related to the CROS.

Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for partial telework for eligible candidates residing in California. All telework / hybrid schedules require staff to report to the office a minimum number of days per week. Schedules are subject to change.

Currently, per the California Budget Act of 2025, all California Department of Tax and Fee Administration salaries are subject to the provisions of the State of California's Personal Leave Program.
