The nurse will work in a high acuity unit that sees a variety of critical conditions, including respiratory failure, shock, and post-operative cardiac surgical care. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as the nurse may work variable shifts and must be available for weekend shifts. Nurses will be expected to manage complex cases, including ventilator management and dysrhythmia interpretation. The work environment is fast-paced, with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 1-2. Candidates should have experience caring for patients who experience severe health events, such as poisoning and near drowning. Unit functions are at the standard level of nursing practice. Preference will be given to those with prior travel nurse experience. The ideal candidate will not only have the required certifications but also the ability to provide compassionate, high-quality care to pediatric patients and their families. The role is critical to supporting the care team in achieving optimal patient outcomes.
