Position Summary

GKN Automotive is seeking a Plant Engineer – Core Process (Heat Treatment) to lead technical support, optimize core processes, and ensure compliance with global standards at our cutting-edge facility in Alamance, NC. In this role, you will be at the forefront of process improvement, engineering design, and global collaboration—helping shape the future of mobility through technical leadership and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent6–10 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineeringStrong skills in data analysis, process design, and engineering implementationKnowledge of HSE policies and commitment to safety and compliancePosition Overview
As a Plant Engineer, you will :
Lead technical support for GKN Core Processes and ensure compliance with standardsDrive internal audits and KPI improvements through action planning and reportingSupport the Technology & Manufacturing Development Manager in updating standards and developing local skillsAttend regional and global meetings to align with international best practicesDesign and improve manufacturing processes, systems, and equipmentConduct engineering inspections and feasibility testingDeliver training programs and support continuous improvement initiativesManage small to medium-scale projects and coordinate subcontractors and suppliersAt GKN, we live by our values :
