Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Tax Specialist to join their small, friendly team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work, thrives in a busy season environment, and values collaboration without requiring constant supervision.

Tax Specialist Responsibilities :

The Tax Specialist will prepare and review individual, business, and trust / estate tax returns.

Organize, analyze, and verify client tax documents, including W-2s, 1099s, and K-1s.

The Tax Specialist will perform tax research and ensure compliance with IRS and state regulations.

Assist senior accountants / CPAs with extensions, estimated payments, and filings.

The Tax Specialist will communicate proactively with clients to obtain missing or corrected documents.

Maintain accuracy, organization, and attention to detail while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications of the Tax Specialist :

Minimum of 2 years' experience in tax preparation; public accounting experience a plus.

Strong knowledge of individual and business tax returns.

CPA license is a plus, but not required.

Reliable, consistent, and able to work independently.

Persistent communicator who can manage client follow-ups effectively.

Team player with a proactive, "go-getter" attitude.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
