Overview
William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is in search of an experienced Civil Construction Project Engineer, who will be responsible for supporting construction projects from pre-construction to completion, while ensuring the project remains on schedule and within budget. The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager and Estimator with the day to day administrative functions associated with Project Management and Estimating to ensure that each estimate is prepared accurately and each project is completed on time and within the estimated budget.
This is a 100% traveling role to our construction projects around the country. Per diem will be provided while in active travel status.

MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $4 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for industrial facilities; building products manufacturers, power generation facilities, manufacturing plants; solar, wind, and thermal energy plants; buildings, and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Attend the project turnover meeting (estimating to operations)
- Assist in generating / maintaining project schedules, both cash flow and work load
- Attend job meetings
- Assist in setting up / managing submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
- Ensure the work, including the work of the subcontractors, is being done in compliance with OSHA standards and company policies
- Enforce the company safety program
- Ensure all work is completed according to specifications for the project
- Assist in completing all project plans
- Assist in maintaining all project related reports
- Assist in preparing project closing documents
- Review construction documents and compete take offs and assist in obtaining procing for materials and subcontractors, including DBE subcontractors
- Assist in preparing CPM schedules using estimated productions
- Attend pre-bid meetings
- Make pre-bid site investigations
- Maintain and submit QA / QC records in accordance with the QA / QC plans
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. A combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of a degreeAt least 2 years industry experience, overseeing civil construction projectsKnowledge / Skills / Abilities
Experience working on heavy civil, earthwork, underground utilities, DOT and / or rail projects is requiredPrevious experience with Procore, Build2Win, and / or P6 a plusAbility to read and understand of contractsStrong analytical skillsDetail oriented and good organization skillsAbility to communicate well with others, both written and orallyProficient in Computer applications such as Microsoft and time reporting systemsFunctional knowledge of job cost accountingThorough understanding of CPM schedulingExtended travel throughout the country is requiredWhat's in it for you :
