Key Responsibilities
Design and analyze structural systems and components for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
Apply load analysis (gravity, wind, seismic) using advanced structural engineering principles and methodologies.
Create and review detailed engineering plans, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
Conduct site visits to evaluate structural integrity, compliance, and adherence to approved plans.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, engineers, and clients throughout the full project lifecycle.
Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and RISA for structural modeling and documentation.
Interpret and apply Florida Building Code requirements, particularly Chapter 16, and relevant standards (e.g., ASCE 7).
Assist in project scope, budget, and timeline coordination.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and leadership.
Participate in proposal development and contribute to project estimating.
Conduct damage assessments and provide expert recommendations for structural repairs or retrofits.
Qualifications
Required :
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida (Structural Engineering).
5+ years of experience in structural engineering, ideally with a mix of building and site structures.
Proficiency in industry software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, RISA).
Strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Thorough knowledge of the Florida Building Code and national structural standards.
Preferred (Not Required) :
Structural Engineering Certification (SEC) or postgraduate qualifications.
Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams or managing client relationships.
Familiarity with construction phase services (field inspections, RFIs, submittal reviews).
