Biomedical Equipment Support Specialist (INFO Systems)-EHRM
The Northeast Ohio VA Healthcare Network is recruiting for a Biomedical Equipment Support Specialist (Information Systems). This position will function in the Clinical Engineering Service.
Summary
The Biomedical Equipment Support Specialist will be responsible for the lifecycle management of network equipment, identifying and troubleshooting issues related to VLAN configuration, IP addressing, sub-netting, HL7, DICOM, Access Control List (ACL) and network security across the medical device network.
- Lifecycle management of network equipment including network switches, servers, routers, and related infrastructure for networked complex medical devices and systems.
- Completes routine and complex assignments involved in identifying and troubleshooting issues related to networked medical equipment and clinical system interfaces.
- Coordinates and works effectively with other facility support departments.
- Utilizes advanced network test equipment and software.
- Manages, troubleshoots, and maintains complete systems of computerized networks, databases, and servers.
- Implements and plans for new and emerging technologies.
- Designs, implements, and manages network incident response.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule
M-F 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30pm
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen, proficient in written and spoken English, and subject to background / security investigation.
Education, Experience, or Certification in biomedical technology or biomedical engineering field.One year of creditable experience equivalent to the next lower grade.Knowledge of Health Level 7 (HL7) and Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standards.Knowledge of advanced testing methods to troubleshoot networked medical equipment and clinical system interfaces.Skill in maintaining computer and server-based medical equipment, databases, and software.Preferred Experience
Prior Biomedical Support Specialist experience, CBET / CABT certification, and network experience.
