General Emergency Department skillset

Cardiac rhythm interpretation

Experience with critical care drips

Vent management

Chest tube management

PIV starts

TNK / TPA administration

Conscious sedation

ESI assessments

Description :

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department.

The facility has 109 licensed beds and is not a teaching hospital.

There is no trauma designation.

This facility has an Advanced Primary Stroke Center certification.

The unit consists of 16 beds.

Patient types and common diagnoses include both pediatric and adult patients with conditions such as COPD, CHF, chest pain, myocardial infarction, non-ST elevation myocardial infarction, stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmias, uncontrolled diabetes, and minor trauma.

Patient ratios are RN : 1 : 4-5 based on acuity.

Travelers may be required to float to other facilities within specified regions, as needed and within the scope of practice.

Support within the department includes a charge nurse who may or may not have a patient assignment, and access to a 24 / 7 hospitalist and ED physician team.

CNA support is also available.

Technology and equipment include an electronic medical record system, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and tele monitors.

General medical-surgical equipment and unit-specific equipment are utilized.

Travelers will be compensated for travel time if floating mid-shift.

Scrub color is navy.
