SUMMARY

CEI, a company within the BSNC family, is currently seeking a qualified Laborer - CDL for LANL C-2541. The ideal candidate will possess a Class A CDL and operate a dump truck as needed, as well as operate a variety of heavy machinery used in construction, excavation, and other related activities. This role requires a strong focus on safety, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with project teams to ensure efficient completion of tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in the installation, repair, and replacement of waterlines and related infrastructure.
  • Perform manual labor such as digging, trenching, backfilling, and grading.
  • Operate hand and power tools, such as shovels, picks, compactors, and jackhammers.
  • Prepare job sites by clearing debris, unloading materials, and setting up equipment.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials and supplies.
  • Assist equipment operators and other crew members as needed.
  • Identify and report potential hazards or issues to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
  • Utilize a Commercial Driver’s License to operate a dump truck occasionally and as needed, along with all duties and responsibilities of operating a commercial vehicle, including securing of loads, inspection of vehicle, and strict compliance with all safety rules and regulations.

  • Commercial Driver’s License - Class A (required)
  • Familiarity with basic construction tools and equipment (required)
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, blueprints, and project plans (required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Previous experience in construction or waterline projects (preferred)
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Knowledge of safety practices and ability to comply with all safety regulations (required)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills (required)
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites (required)
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and on challenging terrain (required)

  • Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time.

    DOT COVERED / SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Outdoor work in diverse weather conditions.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and vibrations from machinery.
  • Will involve working near, and operating, heavy machinery and excavation equipment.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No supervisory responsibilities.
  • ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

    As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
