Position Overview
We're seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented Controller to lead financial operations and drive strategic decision-making across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining financial integrity, and optimizing performance through effective leadership and analysis. The Controller will report directly to the COO and play a key role in shaping the financial future of the business. Our company is an Pacific Northwest leader in the Environmental Services industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage tax filings
- Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
- Conduct financial analysis to inform strategic decisions
- Coordinate audit processes and manage relationships with external auditors
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets
- Manage cash flow and optimize working capital
- Lead and develop the accounting team to improve processes and performance
- Oversee ERP systems and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Analyze variances and manage risk effectively
- Develop management reports to provide insights into financial performance and operational efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldCPA certification preferredProven experience in a financial leadership role, preferably as a ControllerStrong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principlesExperience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisFamiliarity with tax compliance and audit coordinationProficiency in ERP systems and accounting software such as QuickbooksExcellent understanding of cash flow management and internal controlsDemonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance teamStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience in the oil and gas industry preferred, with knowledge of capital assets and fleet managementUnderstanding of SOX compliance and risk management strategiesBenefits
