Job Duties & Responsibilities :

• Under general supervision, performs work required during construction and maintenance on or near all types of energized and de-energized conductors, structures, and equipment up to and including 125 VDC and 120 VAC to 115 KVAC.
• Performs planned and corrective maintenance on generators, transformers, exciters, breakers / switchgear, motors, valve actuators, controls, relays, indicators, instruments, lighting equipment, batteries, and related equipment.
• Installs, removes, or replaces underground and overhead systems including cable splicing, insulating oil testing, minor plumbing / tubing for air / oil / water to controls or instruments.
• Make all necessary inspections, reports, and requisitions for materials.
• Assist technical representatives and contractors during major inspections, modifications, and / or repairs of generators, transformers, exciters, breakers / switchgear, motors, controls, and related equipment.
• Will be required to install instrument transformers; install, remove, connect or disconnect electric meters and services; and do switching and tagging of all voltages.
• Uses hand or power tools, measuring and test equipment.
• Qualified to assemble / install rigging equipment such as straps, slings, and chains and operates cranes / hoists for lifting heavy equipment / materials.
• May be tasked with planning and directing work of others who are assisting.
• Performs other related and less skilled duties, such as raking trash or assisting with trash rack repairs, buoy, watercraft, boat barrier maintenance, Sluice Gate / Fish Way operation and maintenance, fork truck operation, etc as directed
