We have an opportunity for a Counselor to join us and make STEPS Recovery Solutions your new "work home". This position is part time, assisting our full time counselors with afternoon and weekend groups.

To be considered, you must have prior experience as a counselor, have a license or provisional license, and preferably have previous experience in substance abuse / addiction treatment. If you join our team, you'll enjoy the following responsibilities :

• Provide clinical services via individual, group and family therapy.
• Provide crisis intervention and referrals for patients.
• Participate in clinical assessments and screenings to aide in the admissions process.
• Write and submit clinical master admission, discharge and updated treatment plans, and clinical updates for UR review.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations based on the model / treatment criteria.
• Engage patients at admission and through their treatment episode to ensure delivery of the best patient care with unconditional positive regard.
• Document patient notes, interventions, phone calls, and overall patient data, including symptom monitoring.
• Document weekly progress notes and weekly progress questionnaires.
• Keep all patient charts up to date.
• Work collaboratively with the medical and clinical team and provide immediate notification of unusual or potentially high-risk findings.
• Actively participate in weekly medical and / or clinical staffing of patients.
• Contact current patients on a regular basis to keep patients engaged.
• Provide support for clinical services to other team members when needed.
• Adhere to rules and regulations regarding treatment, such as group size, caseload and referrals.
• Aggressively implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
