Provide specialized post-anesthesia care as a Registered Nurse in a dynamic PACU setting. This role requires expertise in monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their safety, managing pain, and promptly addressing any complications. The position demands strong critical thinking, excellent communication with multidisciplinary teams, and thorough knowledge of post-operative care protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients emerging from anesthesia to ensure stable vital signs and manage pain effectively
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Identify and respond to any post-operative complications or adverse reactions quickly
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide seamless patient care
- Educate patients and families regarding post-anesthesia care and recovery expectations
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid RN license
- Specialized experience in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing
- In-depth knowledge of anesthesia recovery protocols and critical care nursing principles
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinical environments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective team collaboration
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
