Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist will perform the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, employee onboarding and training, administering benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Generalist develops and maintains partnerships across the company to deliver value-added human resources services to managers and employees which reflect the talent management and business objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews, tracks, and coordinates compliance training, continuing education, and work assessments, which may include safety training and anti-harassment training.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates hire of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with other leaders as required to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Processes background checks and employee eligibility verification, as required.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs with Insperity, including, but not limited to, compensation, leaves; employee relations and disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles routine employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and / or sensitive matters to the appropriate personnel.
  • Attends, and as required, participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as recommended best practices; works with Insperity to review policies and practices as required to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains current knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Assists HR / Payroll Representative on payroll as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency with, or able to quickly learn, HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • One to three years of human resources experience preferred.
  • Current human resources and / or compensation credentials or certification, such as PHR, SPHR, CP, CCP, SCP, or similar, preferred.
