AVP, Underwriting Manager - Zurich E&S Casualty (Regional)

Zurich E&S is currently looking for a Regional Underwriting Manager for our E&S Casualty team. E&S Casualty is a new team that combines the Zurich E&S Excess Casualty team with the new Zurich E&S Primary Casualty team. This E&S Casualty Manager position will be responsible for developing, coaching, and managing a high-performing regional team of both Primary and Excess Casualty underwriting staff. Additional responsibilities include managing regional performance, including new business production, policy count retention, rate / tiering execution, and portfolio management actions relative to Plan; managing regional wholesale broker relationships; managing underwriter referrals; and maintaining a small production portfolio to stay attune with regional market changes and desk-level challenges. The E&S Casualty Regional Manager position will be expected to travel as necessary to support the needs of the team and to cultivate key broker relationships within the specified regions (25%). The position is a critical role in driving a diversified, dynamic and engaging team culture. This position also requires strong technical acumen in underwriting casualty risks in the E&S segment, experience in overseeing and developing underwriting talent, the ability to manage complex processes, strong wholesale producer engagement and sales skills and a demonstrated ability of profitable portfolio management. This position will be based out of our Scottsdale, AZ location. You will have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis. You will partner with your manager to set a flexible work schedule that supports you, our customers, and our brokers and agents.

AVP Level Basic Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the claims or Under Support area.
• OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.

AND 2 or more years of management experience

The proposed Salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $213,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
