About the team : Acquisitions, Customer Management & Segments (ACMS) is an organization within Card Technology. We manage the platform responsible for acquisitions which includes our pre-approved offer and counter-offer user journeys; and the Customer Management systems that our customers use after they open an account with Capital One. We also manage several products across various segments of the Capital One business. An example is the CreditWise App that gives you 24 / 7 access to your free credit score and protects your data with biometrics and two-factor authentication. We also manage the Secured Card product that provides a path to build your credit through the use of refundable security deposits.

Role : As a Director of Technical Program Management (TPM) within ACMS, you will own technical programs that help build delightful experiences for our customers. Some programs will be highly awaited new features and others will be foundational programs focused on resiliency, efficiency, and more. In addition to the technical program, you will help expand the TPM discipline by leveraging your experience to teach the organization what a great TPM can achieve.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead technical programs that enable real-time, intelligent experiences for customers and associates.
  • Shape and execute programs focused on resiliency, efficiency, and foundational capability growth.
  • Grow and develop a world-class team of technical program managers and build the TPM practice.
  • Lead technology-focused discussions with senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations to guide technology decisions.
  • Collaborate across product, engineering, design, data science, and other partners to simplify complex technical problems and drive informed decisions.
  • Ensure execution with accountability and measurable results, fostering cross-functional collaboration across departments.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering)
  • MBA or Master’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing
  • 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing (preferably AWS)
  • 3+ years of building and leading TPM teams
  • 3+ years of building highly scalable mobile products and platforms
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
  • 3+ years of delivering large and complex programs with cross-functional teams
  • 3+ years of experience building systems within a highly regulated environment
