Position : Pharmacy Technician – Prior Authorization
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8 : 30 AM – 5 : 30 PM CST
Location : Remote (Telecommuter)
About the Role
Join a growing and patient-centric team supporting clinical pharmacy programs, specifically Electronic Prior Authorization (ePA) services. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in facilitating prior authorizations by reviewing medical charts, contacting providers and patients for documentation, and submitting case information to payers. You'll also coordinate with pharmacies and follow up on pending cases to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete prior authorization questions using EMR systems and external payer websites.
- Review patient charts and outreach to providers and patients to gather necessary documentation.
- Submit case questions to payers and follow up on pending authorizations.
- Coordinate with pharmacies to ensure prescription fulfillment.
- Monitor and respond to inbox messages and phone calls related to ePA cases.
Qualifications
Education : High School diploma or GED required.Experience : Minimum 6 months in pharmacy, call center, or customer service.Licensure : Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).Skills :Strong communication and writing skillsExcellent reading comprehension and critical thinkingAbility to multitask and manage time effectivelyProficient in data entry and computer applications (Word, Excel, etc.)Auditing experience or bilingual (e.g., English / Spanish) is a plus
