Job Description
The Miner performs tasks to support mining operations / remediation including cleaning and preparing jobsites, removing debris, loading and unloading material and assisting with operating heavy equipment. They follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environment regulations for safe working conditions. The Miner follows plans and instructions from the superintendent.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate mining equipment including by not limited to drills, muckers, trucks, forklifts and others
- Remove and install pipelines, compressed airlines, communication lines
- Concrete formwork and pours
- Rehabilitation of existing works
- Advancement of new works
- Installation and maintenance of ventilation and utilities
- Intermediate steel installation and welding
- Identify, maintain and repair general maintenance on equipment
- Follow safety rules, regulations and procedures
- Perform daily jobsite inspection
- General underground labor skills
- At times, may lead small crews
- Help mentor new employees when bringing them on site to get them up to speed and making sure they are familiar with the project.
- Other duties as assigned
