Who You’ll Work With

The Legal, Compliance, Regulatory and Government Affairs department is a diverse team comprised of attorneys and other professionals providing high quality advisory and transactional support with integrity and objectivity across all parts of the organization. The team ensures an operating environment that minimizes legal, regulatory and reputational risks and complies with all laws and regulations and Corebridge policies and procedures. As a member of this team, which has received industry recognition for its leadership and innovative solutions, you will have the opportunity to participate in the award-winning Corebridge pro bono program.

About The Role

In this dynamic and challenging role based in Houston, TX, you will have the opportunity to support a team of legal professionals who make up our Regulatory Team supporting, primarily, Corebridge’s life and retirement businesses and operations. The Regulatory team oversees regulatory examinations of the life insurance companies, periodic reporting and inquiries, and transactions and filings with the companies’ domiciliary insurance regulators.

This position reports to the Associate General Counsel and Managing Director, Regulatory Relations.

Responsibilities

You will be working on various aspects of legal support for the Regulatory team. Examples of the work in which you will be involved include:

  • Conducting legal research on a variety of topics, including comparing across jurisdictions and reviewing legislative history
  • Preparing filing documents and responses to regulatory inquiries with oversight from team attorneys
  • Supporting federal and state legislation and regulation tracking
  • Maintaining filing documents and regulatory correspondence consistent with team processes
  • Provide project management and organizational support
  • Draft, create and/or edit correspondence, reports, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years experience as paralegal or similar role, in insurance or financial services
  • Ability to perform proficient legal research with sound knowledge of legal concepts and ability to analyze facts
  • Ability to work in a large high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and anticipates needs, while also working effectively as part of a team
  • Strong capability to carry out tasks with a high level of ownership and accountability, judgment and follow through
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint and Access
