Why does the job exist?
This position is responsible for managing the development, documentation, maintenance and systems security of CYFD's internal and external systems, including design, configuration, installation, administration, optimization and integration. This position will monitor and analyze resource usage and recommend / develop enhancements to systems infrastructure. This position will provide maintenance and support for CYFD systems in a virtual environment, will provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting, participate in disaster recovery planning and ensure all systems adhere to industry best practices and organizational values. This position will also serve as a technical expert in this area and demonstrate great depth of knowledge in an enterprise infrastructure. You are expected to have a thorough grasp of emerging technologies, technical issues, system components, interfaces, protocols and architectures. This candidate will have experience in the following disciplines : VMWare, Dell VxRail, Microsoft Systems Administration, Active Directory, Powershell scripting, WSUS Administration, Linux / Unix, Application Systems Support, Virtualization, Cloud and Backup Technologies to include Azure (Entra), Avamar and Networker Tape backup.
How does it get done?
Under general supervision this position will, install, configure, optimize, and maintain the integrity of the systems environment. Responsible for managing and maintaining agencies data protection, integrity and backup / restore strategies, infrastructure using Networker, Avamar, Data Domain technology. Responsible for managing the development, documentation, maintenance and security of internal and external systems, including design, configuration, installation, administration, optimization, and integration.

Knowledge in the following areas :
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in systems administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Office setting, Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual / Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required. Direct Program and cross-agency interaction and some travel may be required.
