Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery.

The nurse will be working in a unit with 14 beds, including triage / inpatient and labor beds.

C-sections are performed within the unit, and nurses are expected to scrub during these procedures.

Care for high-risk obstetrics patients is a focus, with low-risk antepartum patients managed elsewhere.

Nurses must have experience with magnesium patients and be adaptable to a fast-paced setting.

Full assessments and exams are performed by the nurses, although they cannot place intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPCs).

The unit provides weekend coverage every third weekend, with specific shifts set for nights.

Travelers will not work during holidays.

Nurse aides and scrub techs are available to assist.

Pharmacy services operate 24 / 7, along with respiratory therapy.

Floating to the obstetrics or nursery area is required, but nurses will not take on additional patients in those areas.

Experience with electronic medical record systems is necessary, utilizing both Meditech and GE systems.

Customer service orientation is essential, and candidates will be asked about previous assignments and skills during the interview process.
