An established construction firm is seeking an experienced Estimator to support preconstruction and estimating efforts across diverse commercial projects.   • About the Role

    The Construction Estimator will work closely with the Preconstruction and Estimating team to compile accurate and competitive bids. This position plays a key role in developing pricing strategies, evaluating subcontractor proposals, and ensuring that estimates reflect project requirements and market conditions.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Review proposal documents, plans, and specifications to determine scope and estimate requirements
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and bid strategy sessions to assess project feasibility
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing for all divisions
  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates under general supervision
  • Maintain current data on labor, material, and equipment costs
  • Develop conceptual estimates and cost breakdowns for projects of moderate complexity
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and architects to clarify design intent and cost implications
  • Prepare qualification and exclusion exhibits tailored to each project
  • Ensure consistent use of estimating systems, templates, and software tools
  • Assist in training junior estimating staff and contribute to process improvements
  • Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as an Estimator or Preconstruction professional in commercial construction
  • Strong understanding of divisions 2–16 and general building trades
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Excel-based takeoff tools
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines with precision
