Payroll Tax Compliance Analyst

The Role

Square Payroll, one of the most rapidly growing products at Square, is hiring a Compliance Analyst to play an integral role in keeping our customers compliant by partnering with our product and engineering team on payroll compliance and updates. We are looking for an experienced tax professional with keen attention to detail, experience with implementing and building process improvements, and strong critical thinking skills to help us deliver the highest quality reporting.

You Will

• Research tax statutes and identify payroll tax compliance updates pertaining to federal and state tax agencies to ensure our we make tax payments and filings on time
• Partner with cross-functional teams such as engineering, tax operations and product to review updated tax compliance requirements,
• Be an expert at resolving complex payroll tax issues, partnering with the tax escalations team to ensure they have documented responses to customer's tax questions
• Implement a tax compliance process that will help us to Identify, document, and solve issues that may arise as a result of customer error or product bugs / limitations
• Ensure Square Payroll customer tax payments and filings are completed in an accurate, efficient and timely manner
• Provide the highest level of customer service while assisting customers with tax issues
• Facilitate implementing internal controls and audit requirements, ensuring that our customers are always in compliance

The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
