Payroll Administrator
We are seeking a highly reliable and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our close-knit, family-owned electrical contracting business on a 6-month contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing full-cycle payroll independently, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing for our field and office staff. Experience with Sage 100 Contractor is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process weekly payroll for both union and non-union employees, including timecard collection, data entry, and final submission.
- Ensure payroll is compliant with federal, state, and local regulations; prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports as needed.
- Administer employee deductions, garnishments, and benefits contributions.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, employee files, and audit trails.
- Handle union dues, fringe benefits, and certified payroll reporting (if applicable).
- Utilize Sage 100 Contractor for payroll processing and reporting; troubleshoot issues and optimize workflows.
- Serve as the point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.
Essential Skills
3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a construction or trades environment.Proficiency in full-cycle payroll with minimal supervision or training required.Experience with Sage 100 Contractor is strongly preferred.Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and compliance requirements.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, small business environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of prevailing wage, certified payroll, and union payroll is a plus.Work Environment
This position requires working on-site Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm in a supportive, family-owned business environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 / hr.
