Job Description

Overview

Perform tasks to maintain and implement safety standards, assist in the repair of equipment, and use tooling equipment to machine parts to precision dimensions.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery
• Assist in the repair of equipment, using machinery, grinders, saws, hand tools and other shop equipment
• Monitor equipment and operations to meet safety standards
• Comply with LOTO and other Amerex conduct, safety, and environmental procedures and programs. Advise management of any deviations from this program
• Follow diagrams, and drawings to produce parts to precision dimensions
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate machinery associated with tool shops including but not limited to manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and heat treating ovens
• Maintain maintenance supplies by anticipating needed equipment and communicating needed supplies and irregularities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

This position may involve potential exposure to hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat / cold), and the employee must be able to work under stress occasioned by production requirements, personnel, and the needs of other departments, utilizing proper body mechanics.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical activities required of this job include but are not limited to : The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and / or a negligible amount of force to frequently lift, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; however, it may involve walking and standing for brief periods of time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
