Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a QA Engineer - Fintech - this is a fully remote role for candidates based in the EST or CET timezones. Salary range : 120-150K USD yearly.

We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer to ensure the reliability and accuracy of our fintech and payments platform. You’ll own the quality of our APIs and web app through thorough manual and automated testing, clear communication, and well-structured test cases. This role is highly collaborative and focused on understanding requirements, validating functionality, and ensuring our systems behave as expected end-to-end.

What you’ll do

Testing and validation

Design and execute manual test plans for backend APIs and the web application.

Use Postman (and similar tools) to build and maintain API test suites.

Create, organize, and run end-to-end test scenarios that cover payments, ledgering, and reconciliation flows.

Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and context on business impact.

Collaborate with engineers and product managers to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure test coverage.

Quality ownership

Take part in feature planning and design discussions to ensure testability from the start.

Develop and maintain clear, reproducible test cases and supporting documentation.

Communicate findings effectively across product and engineering teams.

Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and standards.

How you’ll work

Work closely with backend and frontend engineers to validate releases.

Balance hands-on manual testing with lightweight automation where it adds real value.

Help ensure smooth release cycles through effective coordination and prioritization of tests.

Treat quality as a shared team responsibility, not just a QA function.

Tools you’ll use

Postman (API testing and regression)

JIRA (test case and defect tracking)

Browser DevTools for front-end validation

GitLab (for basic CI visibility)

Familiarity with Node.js and TypeScript is a plus to understand API behavior

Minimum qualifications

5+ years in QA roles testing APIs and web applications.

Strong experience designing and executing manual test plans.

Proficiency with Postman or similar tools for API testing.

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Strong analytical and debugging abilities.

Nice to have

Experience testing fintech, payments, and crypto-related systems.

Familiarity with automation for regression or smoke testing.

Exposure to performance or load testing tools (e.g., k6, Locust).

Experience with test management tools and structured test case repositories.

Understanding of CI / CD pipelines and deployment workflows.

Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes) and observability tools.
