Job Summary
Responsible for opening and closing identified facilities and amenities, on stand active lifeguarding, in-service training, routine pool maintenance and cleaning. Administrative duties include electronically completing various reports, flyers and other promotional material, preparing correspondence, preparing and co-leading meetings, issuing, receiving and inventorying equipment and supplies and assisting with training and supervising of the Lifeguard staff. The Lifeguard Lead will report directly to the Aquatics and Recreation Program Specialists.
Essential Duties
opens / closes garage doors, daily pool chemical checks, ensures cleanliness of pool area and functionality of
related equipment, and any pump room pool checks. Secures facility at closing by making sure all rooms are
clean and equipment is stored, ensures all gates, doors, garage doors are locked and secure; and performs
a final walk through to ensure no persons are still in the building.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or some college coursework preferred. Experience in the customer service industry, with cash management responsibilities preferred. Must have the ability to learn industry software specific to Parks and Recreation facilities management, registration and cash management. Must possess Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR and AED certifications, Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification and Certified Pool Operator certification or have the ability to obtain these certifications within forty-five days of employment start date. Valid, Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements
Job Duties are typically performed in an indoor climate-controlled environment. Position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time when necessary. Applicants must be able to transport themselves and move about a building, grounds and athletic fields. Position requires the senses of eyesight, hearing and speech. Position requires the ability to lift and carry loads up to 50lbs and to work outdoors in all types of weather. Position requires the ability to perform lifeguard skills in water and on land as needed, etc.
While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee may be exposed to seasonal temperatures, the sun for extended periods of time, wet or humid conditions, blood borne pathogens, body fluids of others, and toxic & caustic chemicals. The noise levels in the work environment can be moderately loud on occasion.
In order to be hired, applicants will need to pass a background check, a drug screen, physical exam, and a reference check.
