Job descriptionPerform nursing assessment of patients including obtaining and documenting weight, temperature, pulse, and other vital signsObtain and document patient history, nature of complaint and symptomsAdminister injections and medications as ordered and supervised by the physicianAssist the physician with minor surgical procedures and specific examinations as neededPerform venipuncture for laboratory procedures as ordered by the physicianConduct telephone follow-up with home health services, hospitals, pharmacies, and other physicians in regard to clinic patients for collection and transfer or informationAssist Office Coordinator in other related duties as necessary to ensure a smooth patient / work flowAssist in maintaining an adequate inventory by checking supplies and drug levels periodically and prepares inventory orders as requested by Office Coordinator or PhysicianPerform other tests such as EKG, Holter Monitor, Treadmill and pulmonary function studies as directed by physicianPerform patient education and instructions as directed by the physician. Obtains consent from patients for medical procedures as appropriateMaintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Louisiana
