Purpose of Position

Responsible for developing software for visual simulation system. Application areas include real time imagegeneration; visual environment and model creation tools; display system design, measurement, and alignment;computer systems and information security. Intermediate Level; continuing development level. Performs morevaried and difficult aspects of the job; may need guidance on job duties; applies learning to recommend optionsto address unusual situations. Works with senior Teammates. Work is observed and reviewed.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Develops, supports, and maintains software components, interfaces, features, subsystems, and systemsacross the development cycle.
• As appropriate, applies skills in requirements identification and analysis; software design and construction;software testing and verification; problem identification and resolution; maintenance and troubleshooting;user support and multi disciplinary team collaboration.
• Uses disciplined software development methods, including construction techniques, test methodologies,configuration management, and software tools; uses and contributes to product and process managementinformation systems and documentation.
• Consults with other software and hardware engineers as part of a team. Communicates betweendepartments. Provides reports to management.
• Designs prototypes for new technologies, algorithms, structures, and processes. Conducts research anddevelopment.
• Supports computer system and hardware requirements, integration, and maintenance.
• Remains current on state of the art technologies through technical papers, periodicals, and conferences.
• Exhibits and practices professional and courteous behavior while interacting with both internal and externalcustomers.
• Interacts within a cooperative environment through beneficial behavior, commitment to common goals,contribution to problem solving, communication of ideas and suggestions, and encouragement to otheremployees and departments.
• Accountable for the control and distribution of documents and or equipment subject to export controlrestrictions and the security of FSI materials, projects and business information regarding the methods andtechniques used in the production and usage of FSI products.
• Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
• Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance. Willingness to work overtimeas necessary.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other applicable technical field; and two years relatedexperience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and expertise for this levelusually results from internal progressive experience. However selection for this position is based on thedemonstrated ability of the person to successfully fulfill the requirements listed.

• C++/C#/C programming

• Strong physics and mathematics (especially geometry) capability
• Technical experience in any of the following is a plus:

• Strong geometry and mathematics capability--Euclidean and projective geometry, matrix algebra, vectormath
• Relational Databases-- MySQL or PostgreSQL bash, Power Shell, Python, Perl or other scripting experience
