Kalos Services is hiring a Procurement Assistant to support our General Construction team. This role plays a critical part in sourcing and coordinating building materials, equipment, and subcontracted services needed for successful project delivery. The Procurement Assistant ensures materials are available on time and within budget, supporting field crews and project managers to keep projects running smoothly.
Compensation : $22 – $26 (based on experience)
Schedule : Monday through Friday, Day Shift (On-Site)
Bonuses : Discretionary quarterly bonuses based on performance metrics.
Key Metrics for review :
- Accurate Purchasing : Procure materials and commodities at the best possible prices.
- Proactive Planning : Ensure all necessary materials are ordered and available before the project's start date.
- Effective Communication : Maintain clear and proactive communication with superintendents and project managers, keeping them informed about all orders.
- Order Tracking : Accurately track and document all purchase orders.
- Blueprint Review : Assist in reviewing project plans to ensure no items are missed
Requirements :
Support sourcing and evaluation of building material suppliers and subcontractorsRequest and analyze supplier quotes for lumber, concrete, steel, finishes, and related materialsCoordinate with vendors to secure timely deliveries to jobsitesPrepare purchase orders and requisitions per company standardsTrack inventory levels and jobsite deliveries for active projectsAssist in negotiating favorable pricing and terms for bulk purchasesMaintain accurate records of orders, costs, deliveries, and contractsGenerate reports to monitor spend, delivery schedules, and vendor performanceEnsure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and industry standardsCommunicate procurement updates and challenges with Construction Managers and leadershipCollaborate with all pertinent Commercial Construction stakeholders to align materials with construction schedulesHelp verify accuracy and quality of materials delivered to jobsitesIdentify opportunities for process improvement in purchasing and vendor coordinationCoordinate with the Warehouse team to review in-house stock and / or identify materials returned from previous projects that can be reused before purchasing new itemsAdditional Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferredPrior experience in procurement, construction supply chain, or material coordinationFamiliarity with construction building materials and equipment strongly preferredStrong organization and communication skills with attention to detailProficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of ERP / procurement systemsAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environmentTeam-oriented approach with a high level of accountability
