AfterCare Program Manager Position Summary :

The Program Manager is responsible for providing Biblically based pastoral counseling to AfterCare program participants to help them end the cycle of addiction.

The AfterCare Program Manager must adhere to The Foundry's mission, vision, and core values and be willing to sign The Foundry's Statement of Faith. The AfterCare Program Manager reports directly to the AfterCare Director and upholds the Board of Directors' policies. The AfterCare Program Manager's responsibilities include those defined in this responsibility description.

Responsibility Description for AfterCare Program Manager :

General Counseling Responsibilities :

  • Serve as each AfterCare participant's advocate. Listen to their hearts. Meet their needs. Love the individual.
  • Engage with participants in Phase 4 or Phase 5 (if applicable) bi-weekly to assess, direct, and coach through their needs. Document counseling notes using program participant management software.
  • Share program roster changes as necessary to correctly communicate program participant status (same-day data entry).
  • Bring together people, agencies, services, and other resources within a planned framework of action to achieve the goals of the life-recovery process.
  • Facilitate social services resources to meet program participants' needs.
  • Communicate the expectations of the AfterCare program to the program participants when in session.
  • Coordinate with recovery program staff to facilitate legal appointments and communicate changes in participant residential status, including termination of residency, with appropriate parties and court-appointed legal entities. Ministry counselors represent The Foundry and not the program participant in legal matters.
  • Ensure your records and files are kept confidential, accurate, and current.
  • Ensure that confidentiality is maintained on an interagency need-to-know basis.
  • Provide statistics and reports of counseling services, including participation in scheduled phase evaluation meetings.
  • Maintain a safe, transparent, and healing environment based on grace, truth, and love. Encourage trust and authenticity without fear.
  • Embrace the participant accountability process, which leads to self-evaluation and personal change. Empower lasting change and discourage dependency. Note : You may be required to engage in the dismissal process.
  • Teach and mentor program participants at every opportunity, using Biblical precepts and direct scriptural references. Refrain from personal opinions.
  • Build a loving and compassionate relationship with program participants while establishing healthy and safe boundaries. Do not make decisions for people.
  • Remain vigilant of the warning signs of co-dependency. Our worth and identity come from Christ, not our performance, results, or metrics.
  • Pray with program participants.
  • Assist the Director of AfterCare with implementing classes, small groups, and curriculum as requested.
  • Participate in in-house meetings and training sessions.
  • Participate in ongoing education that supports your personal and professional development, including the Discipleship Counselor Training Class.
  • Maintain licensure and certifications (if applicable).

Recovery Program Participants (Phase 3) Responsibilities :

  • A ssist the AfterCare Director in meetings or events around Phase 3 participants.
  • Assist the Director of AfterCare in preparing for Phase 3 to Phase 4, including supplies, compliance, and documentation needed.
  • Recovery Program Pre-Graduates (Phase 4) Responsibilities :

  • Conduct counseling / check-ins with Phase 4 pre-graduate s assigned to you.
  • Report failures to adhere to AfterCare guidelines.
  • Assist the AfterCare Director with graduation duties.
  • M onitor the drug screens. Communicate with the AfterCare Director and program participant with results other than "Pass."
  • Routinely perform quality checks on program participant guidelines.
  • Relay meeting times and events scheduled for AfterCare participants.
  • Coordinate third-party ministry service providers (i.e., Unbound Grace, etc.), The Foundry, and program participants.
  • Provide accurate expectations to AfterCare participants.
  • Report issues, concerns, and changes to the Director of AfterCare regarding AfterCare participants.
  • Restoration Program (Phase 5) - Assist the Director of AfterCare :

  • Coordinate with Restoration Program services.
  • P rocess restoration program applications.
  • Coordinate with intake departments for available bed space.
  • Human Resources and Communications - Assist the Director of AfterCare :

  • Delegation, supervision, and inspection of ministry operations.
  • Implementing, evaluating, and documenting training and safety drills. Training and drills include Confidentiality, Suicide / Self-Harm, Overdose Reversal, Bloodborne Pathogen / Infectious Disease Protocol, Transportation Driver, Dormitory Leader, Emergency Response, Fire and severe weather, and Hostile Intruder.
  • Promote honest, timely, and appropriately candid team communications.
  • Investigate incidents and grievances to prioritize conflict resolution among program participants and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with ministry branding standards when creating official documents, written correspondence, forms, and marketing materials.
  • Data Accuracy - Assist the Director of AfterCare :

  • Same-day data entry.
  • Apricot Data Accuracy Report outcomes and display Apricot proficiency.
  • Maintain HMIS certification, access, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Assist Program Directors with Apricot Data Accuracy Report outcomes.
  • Safety - Assist the Director of AfterCare :

  • Program staffing, participant safety, and property safety. Note that program participants do not supervise other participants.
  • Compliance with participant guidelines, updates, and posting current contact information.
  • Submit incident / accident reports, including bloodborne pathogen protocol compliance if applicable, within 24 hours.
  • Monitor campus alarms.
  • Safely operate ministry vehicles.
  • Manage defined medical, mental health, overdose, and suicide / self-harm emergencies.
  • Manage defined fire and severe weather emergencies.
  • Follow protocol for safely managing visitors and volunteers.
  • Ensure that first-aid kits, overdose reversal kits, and fire extinguishers are accessible and functional.
  • Other Responsibilities as Requested :

  • Coordinate with Program Directors to maintain 24 / 7 / 365 "TOUR READY" facilities and properties. This includes exterior and interior areas of each campus.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors with "INSPECTION READY" documents, files, policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Partner with the Director of AfterCare with ministry-supported AfterCare activities, including color code, graduation service facilitation, graduation applications, administration activities, and communication.

  • Qualifications and Requirements :

  • Associate or bachelor's degree required .
  • One (1) to three (3) years of supervisory and management experience.
  • Knowledge of pastoral / clinical counseling, social services / case management, employment readiness / job placement, advocacy / community engagement, and recovery services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of disadvantaged populations.
  • Approved by The Foundry's insurance carrier to operate a ministry vehicle.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft® 365, MAC applications, Google Docs, participant management software, and Grammarly.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and speaking skills.
  • Proven ability to de-escalate and resolve conflicts.

  • Able to manage multiple tasks promptly.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
