We are currently Staffing for CDL-A Drivers in the area to join Ryder's team supporting the Ross account during peak season - now through early January!

  • We're hiring dependable Class A CDL Drivers for heavy-touch freight positions with excellent pay, consistent hours, and the opportunity for temp-to-perm placement based on performance.

Pay & Locations

  • Smyrna, TN : $28.50 / hr + OT after 40 hours
  • Hours : 55+ hours per week
  • Per Diem : $30 per night (1–2 nights per week)
  • Paid Training Provided

    • Schedule

  • Monday – Friday (Saturdays as needed by customer)
  • Dispatch between 12 : 00 AM – 8 : 00 AM
  • Expect 11+ hour days

    • Position Details

  • Freight Type : Touch freight (Clothing & Home Goods)
  • Equipment : 53' Dry Van
  • Duties : Move boxes (up to 50 lbs) from trailer to conveyor belt at store locations
  • Boxes are stacked up to 6 high — step stool provided
  • Ryder provides all necessary equipment and training

    • Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Experience :
  • 9 months in the last 36 months OR 24 months in the last 60 months with CDL-A equipment (verified)
  • Driving Record :
  • No more than 2 combined minor traffic violations / accidents in the last 24 months
  • FMCSA Clearinghouse : Clean D&A record required
  • Criminal Background : Case-by-case consideration (cleaner is better)

    • Assignment Duration

  • Runs through New Year's (Peak Season)
  • Temp-to-Hire & Surge roles available
  • Ryder may hire qualified drivers after 90 days or equivalent hours
