Job Description

Public Storage is seeking a hands-on and highly driven  Corporate Development Manager  to join the team. In conjunction with the Vice President of Investor Relations and Strategic Partnerships, the Corporate Develop Manager will work closely with key internal and external constituents to support Public Storage’s broader corporate strategies. The role will provide unique exposure across the company’s best-in-class operations, with a focus on identifying, analyzing, and managing external strategic initiatives and partnerships to help drive growth and value creation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop deep understanding of Public Storage’s business in support of cross-functional corporate teams and strategies
  • Foster collaborative and trustful relationships with internal teams, including operations, technology, asset management, and real estate acquisitions and development
  • Design and execute corporate development plan, with focus on external initiatives and partnerships
  • Identify, analyze, underwrite, and present business cases for new initiatives and partnerships to executive leadership team
  • Foster and maintain excellent external relationships with entities including industry and non-industry participants, venture capital firms, and proptech innovators
  • Track effectiveness and performance of initiatives and partnerships, identifying and remediating issues while leveraging successes
  • Serve as a positive ambassador of the Public Storage brand, both internally and externally

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, including business, finance, or accounting
  • 7+ years related experience, including corporate strategy and development, consulting, and / or investment banking
  • Track record of success in enhancing corporate performance through internal and external strategic initiatives and partnerships preferred
  • Strong experience in identifying, analyzing, underwriting, and developing business cases for potential opportunities preferred
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills with a focus on Excel, PowerPoint, and additional technical capabilities a positive (e.g., Tableau, SQL, Python)
  • Strength of character and ability to communicate with internal and external colleagues at all levels through excellent analytical, verbal, written, and broader interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated and organized with the ability to learn and work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong work ethic and ability to support multiple projects in parallel and prioritize competing demands under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines
