About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Two years of current experience in a large emergency department; must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.

License : State Nursing License or Compact State Nursing License

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications required. BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be completed through an accredited provider.

Must-Have : Candidates must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia test within the first week of the assignment.

Description :

Selected candidates must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia test.

Candidates will not be able to start the assignment until they have passed this onsite administered test.

If candidates fail, they will have one opportunity to re-test.

A second failure will result in contract cancellation.

Floating between departments and local locations within a specified distance is required.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.

Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.

Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.

Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient / family and healthcare team.

Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.

Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physicians or standard protocols and documents according to policy.

Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care.

Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.

Completes patient population / age-specific / procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.

Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.

Epic experience is preferred but not required; training can be provided on-site.
