American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Labor & Delivery position in an LDRP setting, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and specific labor / postpartum care skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital-based LDRP unit caring for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and well newbornsThe patient population includes low-risk laboring mothers, post-partum, couplets, and well babies, with high-risk transfers outHandles post-partum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia, HELLP, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and MSU surgical overflows (no infectious patients, no telemetry)Average acuity is low with approximately 200 births per yearFollows AWHONN staffing ratios : 1 : 2 laboring, 1 : 1 active labor, 1 : 3-4 couplets, 1 : 2-3 Med SurgNight shift schedule : 7PM-7AM, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend requiredNo on-call required; required to work every other holidayUses Cerner as the charting systemFloating may occur to Med / Surg or ED for tasks but not patient assignmentsMain duties include comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases, as well as newborn careRN will perform neonatal care in OR during C-sections; not required to circulate C-sectionsUnit is staffed by at least two RNs overnight, with midwife primary care and other support availableProfessional attire required; any color scrub allowed except for procedural areas where specific OR scrubs are providedFacility provides general orientation and one shift of unit orientationFlu vaccination required for clearance unless a medical exemption is approvedFree parking available on siteFirst-time travelers are accepted if they meet the experience criteria\n \n Requirements\n
Active RN license (Compact or ME) requiredMinimum 2 years recent L&D experience; first-time travelers must have 3 years L&D experienceCurrent BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications requiredSTABLE certification required within 30 days of startExperience managing all phases of Labor and Postpartum care in an LDRP environmentSkills in shoulder dystocia, epidural management, nitrous and intrathecal analgesia, and newborn care (vitals, thermoregulation, hypoglycemia, bilirubin, NAS) required\n Benefits\n
