Job description

This is an onsite position that supports our manufacturing operations leaders and teams with their robust knowledge of HR best practices, legal requirements and strategic labor workforce planning. Through demonstrated actions and communications, implementing and managing human resources activities will include :

Proven Strategic Leadership :

  • Acts as the strategic partner and member of the leadership team in HR and Manufacturing.
  • Leading organizational capability initiatives by interpreting the business context and key stakeholder perspectives.
  • Earns and builds trust within the organization as a credible, valued advisor through engaging leaders and team members in mission-focused conversations.
  • Leads change in partnership with Operations leadership team to drive business results within the company's culture. Serves as the leadership team’s change management process steward.

Operational Excellence :

  • Develops, supports, and communicates policies and procedures to align with the company's expectations and responsibilities related to human resources and supports site-level HR in compliance.
  • Consults with and advises manufacturing operations, plant management, and facility HR teams on human resources issues, labor relations, attendance, disciplinary matters, training, company policies, and applicable laws, while actively monitoring and maintaining satisfactory labor relations to protect company interests and rights.
  • Oversees workforce investigations related to employee complaints, injuries and suspected misconduct and communicates with management and legal counsel regarding human resources related litigation as needed.
  • Gives guidance on recruitment activities for hourly and temporary labor positions, including but not limited to candidate screening, selection, orientations, and new hire onboarding.
  • Ensures HR systems and records, including those related to personnel, compensation, and benefits are accurate and properly maintained.
  • Maintains adherence to effective Workers' Compensation administration practices to assure the company provides timely and appropriate care and rehabilitation for work-related injuries and illnesses, while guarding against fraud and abuse.
  • Leads, supports, and implements salaried performance management process and merit-based pay increases.
  • Develops, implements, and administers effective and efficient training programs to meet plant goals and employee development needs.
  • Oversees the generation, maintenance, and retention of employment related records and data systems.
  • Advises management on labor relations issues to maintain satisfactory relations between management and organized labor, while assuring maintenance of management rights and union avoidance where applicable. Participates in responding to grievances and arbitration requests and participates in contract negotiations.
  • Ensures ongoing monitoring and compliance to human resources policies and procedures to meet organizational needs and comply with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Travels as needed to and performs other tasks and duties assigned (approx. 20%)
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources
  • 10+ years related HR leadership experience, or an equivalent in combination of education and experience.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP certifications preferred, but not required.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal and state laws (FLSA, ADA / AA, NLRA, FMLA, ACA, etc.).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Keen attention to detail; ability to deliver high quality, timely, and accurate work.
  • Knowledge and understanding of business, HR processes, and organizational processes.
  • Ability to drive timelines and coordinate across groups to deliver on a common goal.
